Charge it in 4 different ways!
With this crank radio, you are always prepared for the worst, and you have several backup options if it's not possible to charge with, for example, a power outlet. This radio can be charged in no less than four ways:
- Crank
- Solar cells
- USB (e.g., from a power bank)
- AAA batteries
In an optimal situation, you keep your crank radio fully charged via USB so you can quickly listen to important information whenever you want. NOTE – Micro-USB cable for charging is not included.
Charge by cranking
However, it's easy to forget to charge. Who hasn't forgotten to charge their phone? Then you have several options.
By cranking for only 1 minute, you can do the following:
- Let the lamp shine for 5 – 10 minutes
- Listen to the radio for 3 – 5 minutes
- Charge your mobile so you can talk for 3 – 5 minutes
Solar cells
The solar cell is perfect for trickle charging the crank radio. Just place it in a sunny spot and the battery will slowly recharge. It takes about 35 hours to fully charge in direct sunlight.
Standard AAA batteries
This is also one of the few dynamo radios that can be powered by standard AAA batteries. It's easy and inexpensive to stock up on them. Plus, rechargeable batteries are available.
Since this is also a battery-powered radio, you can conveniently use it daily at your cabin or campsite.
Three frequency bands
This crank radio has three frequency bands:
- FM – The absolute primary band in Sweden. Here you'll find, among others, SR P4 where VMA – Important Public Announcements are broadcast.
- AM – Gives you the ability to listen to radio stations further away in Europe. Good if the Swedish radio network is affected for any reason.
- WB – NOAA Weather Radio, broadcast in the USA and the Caribbean – not very useful in Sweden, however.
Extra large power bank – mobile charger
Most emergency radios usually have a power bank of around 1000 mAh, a maximum of 2000 mAh. This crank radio has a full 4000 mAh.
Firstly, this means the radio and lamp work for a very long time. Secondly, it means you can easily use this radio as a mobile charger.
Most other crank radios on the market have a far too weak power bank for it to effectively charge a mobile phone. Today's smartphones consume a lot of energy. For example, to fully charge an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, around 2000 to 4000 mAh is needed.
With an emergency radio with a 4000 mAh power bank, you can truly charge your phone, not just "emergency charge" it.
Tip – if you really want to be prepared and be able to charge your phone multiple times, also purchase a powerful 20000 mAh power bank.
